The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 91 spots for Raheem Anderson II, and value like that does not grow back.

Getting Lance where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Cowboys indulged a want in Saka while a need in quarterback, tight end and other spots stayed open. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
