Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Taylor from sliding. Grade: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Seahawks were there to profit. Mason Taylor, the No. 98 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 184th overall pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Caldwell has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Shemar Stewart
They took Shemar Stewart at par in No. 50, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
You do not let a linebacker like Jihaad Campbell reach the 82nd pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick136 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
They talked themselves into Jaeden Roberts at pick No. 136, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Nicholas Singleton
A running back of that caliber at pick 173 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184 Rnd6 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at Round 6, Pick 9 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jamaree Caldwell
A real head-scratcher, Jamaree Caldwell in the 210th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234 Rnd7 Jonas Sanker
Circle this one: Jonas Sanker at slot 234 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
