FutureB+
The Bears answered their biggest question with Daniels. Grade: B+. Start where it matters. The Bears took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Arnold value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Reaching for Jones left real value on the table behind him.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In Round 1, Pick 2 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick15
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In slot 15 they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
They will replay Terrion Arnold at pick No. 40 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick46
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
No drama and no debate, Chris Braswell went about where he belonged in No. 46. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick75
Rnd3
Xavier Worthy
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 75th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick135
Rnd4
Mason McCormick
A reach for Mason McCormick in the Round 4 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick218
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace in the 218th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick228
Rnd7
JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at pick 228 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Pick250
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones at the 250th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick257
Rnd7
Anim Dankwah
They left a pile of value on the table to take Anim Dankwah this early at the Round 7 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
