The Bears answered their biggest question with McCarthy. Grade: B+.

The Bears torched the value chart for Javon Baker, taking him 75 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

J.J. McCarthy is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Vaki pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and linebacker still on the board.

That Wallace pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
