They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Williams pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
