The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bears watched Keon Coleman slide 39 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The veteran additions, Terry McLaurin chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
