Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB-

FutureB-
The Bears let Hill Jr. fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Anthony Hill Jr., the Round 3 slot, roughly 50 picks past where he belonged.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting James proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter at slot 57 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick89
Rnd3
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. at the 89th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jakobe Thomas
Jakobe Thomas at pick 129 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick163
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
The board fumbled Max Iheanachor all the way to Round 5, Pick 25, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick239
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall at No. 239 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick241
Rnd7
Kamran James
A wild overpay on Kamran James in pick No. 241, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
