Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a D. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bears spent the 123rd overall pick on Roger Rosengarten, a name the board had a full 56 spots lower. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Vaki where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
