Reese should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Bears never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

However the rest shakes out, Reese at that price is a win they earned. Reaching for Kacmarek left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In the 25th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
