800k3m DRAFTING FOR THESteelers

Draft Grade — Steelers

FutureB-
The Steelers let Stukes fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. The board owed the Steelers one, and it paid up: Treydan Stukes, the No. 150 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 6 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. With edge rusher and running back unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. Reaching for Chambliss left real value on the table behind him.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the 21st overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 21: Sonny Styles for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick76
Rnd3
Malik Muhammad
Malik Muhammad at slot 76 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Value with a capital V on Zakee Wheatley in pick 85, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick99
Rnd3
Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss in pick No. 99 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick121
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
No edge and no loss on Keylan Rutledge in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick135
Rnd4
Kage Casey
A want over a need in the 135th pick: Kage Casey adds an offensive lineman while edge rusher and running back keeps waiting.
Pick159
Rnd5
Gracen Halton
They paid a round early for Gracen Halton in No. 159, more than the board wanted. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick213
Rnd6
Eric McAlister
Steal is underselling it; Eric McAlister at No. 213 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick214
Rnd6
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes at the 214th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick224
Rnd7
Oscar Delp
Circle this one: Oscar Delp at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick237
Rnd7
Bud Clark
They barely believed it either: Bud Clark still on the board at slot 237. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
