Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Omar Speights got past him. The Ravens do not have to explain a thing at No. 253. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front. The Jonathan Marshall pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
