The Vikings spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Garrett Nussmeier, the No. 45 name on the board, in pick No. 83.

If Coogan pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
