Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureB
The 49ers worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Jack Kelly at the Round 6 slot, a reach of 48 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Getting Miller where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick57
Rnd2
Christen Miller
Christen Miller at pick No. 57 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick59
Rnd2
Dontay Corleone
A conviction pick on Dontay Corleone at the 59th overall pick that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez at Round 3, Pick 5 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick93
Rnd3
Caden Curry
They left a pile of value on the table to take Caden Curry this early at slot 93. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104
Rnd4
Max Llewellyn
They reached into another round for Max Llewellyn, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick112
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Parker Brailsford. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127
Rnd4
Nadame Tucker
They talked themselves into Nadame Tucker at No. 127, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick133
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun slipping to Round 4, Pick 33 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick138
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
J.C. Davis in the 138th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick150
Rnd5
Jaeden Roberts
A slide stopped in the 150th pick, with Jaeden Roberts worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick168
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
A tidy little value on Aaron Graves in pick 168, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jack Kelly
Jack Kelly at pick No. 216 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
