Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

FutureB-
The Buccaneers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Eric Gentry, 122 picks early at pick 211. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Landing Allar that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The veteran additions, Kamari Lassiter chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Denzel Boston
Denzel Boston at pick No. 33 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Pick39
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in No. 39 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick64
Rnd2
Trevor Goosby
Nothing to complain about; Trevor Goosby went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick70
Rnd3
Olaivavega Ioane
By-the-book stuff, Olaivavega Ioane at Round 3, Pick 6 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick72
Rnd3
Gabe Jacas
This one needs a full-page explanation: Gabe Jacas in the 72nd pick, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Jaishawn Barham
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaishawn Barham well ahead of where he belonged. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick86
Rnd3
Sammy Omosigho
Sammy Omosigho at the 86th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick93
Rnd3
Joe Royer
Joe Royer at slot 93 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick110
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in Round 4, Pick 10 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick116
Rnd4
Zane Durant
They left a pile of value on the table to take Zane Durant this early at pick 116. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128
Rnd4
Aaron Graves
They reached a country mile for Aaron Graves at the 128th overall pick, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick133
Rnd4
Drew Allar
Steal is underselling it; Drew Allar at pick No. 133 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick140
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
A big swing on Jaydn Ott at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166
Rnd5
Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Jermaine Mathews Jr. at No. 166 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick175
Rnd5
Princewill Umanmielen
They reached into another round for Princewill Umanmielen, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick211
Rnd6
Eric Gentry
Eric Gentry in the 211th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick218
Rnd6
Barion Brown
Barion Brown at Round 6, Pick 35 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jamari Lyons
A real head-scratcher, Jamari Lyons in slot 245 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
