Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Broncos cashed the board's mistake on Freeling: B.

The Broncos did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Monroe Freeling fell into the 130th pick.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Thomas reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In No. 30 they get a three-down second-level presence. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick62 Rnd2 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at the 62nd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jake Golday
They will replay Jake Golday at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick108 Rnd4 Caden Curry
Caden Curry in slot 108 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick130 Rnd4 Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling at the 130th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick168 Rnd5 Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss in Round 5, Pick 30 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Alex Harkey
No edge and no loss on Alex Harkey in pick No. 246; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick251 Rnd7 Luke Hasz
Luke Hasz at pick 251 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick255 Rnd7 Noah Thomas
Noah Thomas at the 255th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
