d DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots

Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
A

TradesA+
FutureA+
The Patriots robbed the room for Blue. Final grade: A. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jaydon Blue, the No. 173 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 22. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Bottom line, with Tyler Warren leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In the 25th overall pick they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, and a steal at that.
Pick38
Rnd2
Wyatt Milum
They did well to land Wyatt Milum in pick No. 38, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick69
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Elic Ayomanor at the Round 3 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick77
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
The board had Donovan Jackson higher than pick 77, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick79
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
Nothing to complain about; Isaiah Bond went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick106
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at No. 106 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick144
Rnd5
Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer in Round 5, Pick 6 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jaylen Reed
A safety of that caliber at slot 217 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick220
Rnd7
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
They barely believed it either: Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson still on the board at pick 220. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jaydon Blue
Taking Jaydon Blue in pick No. 238 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
