The Bears let Edwards fall into their laps, and walked away with a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Edwards where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
