Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: B-. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They banked enough surplus on Hicks to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick 9 they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. More want than need.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus in pick No. 75 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at slot 122 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
