The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: B-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. If Bullock pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value.
Pick27 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Brian Thomas Jr.. The roster fit checks out.
Pick35 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
No drama and no debate, Darius Robinson went about where he belonged in pick 35. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
They liked Calen Bullock enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick90 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in slot 90; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick122 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at the 122nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
