Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles bled value on every deal, hence the C.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Eagles spent pick No. 247 on Jaylen Harrell, a name most had 37 spots down the list. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 JC Latham
In pick No. 19 they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau in the 60th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick97 Rnd3 MarShawn Lloyd
They took MarShawn Lloyd at par in the 97th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
They jumped the gun on Jaden Hicks, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick137 Rnd5 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson is a better player than No. 137 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick156 Rnd5 Sataoa Laumea
They let Sataoa Laumea come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson at No. 172 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick178 Rnd6 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson at the 178th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick188 Rnd6 Andrew Raym
Good price on Andrew Raym in pick 188, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220 Rnd6 Kaimon Rucker
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kaimon Rucker. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jaylen Harrell
They reached a country mile for Jaylen Harrell at the Round 7 slot, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249 Rnd7 Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe at the 249th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
