Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Damien Martinez got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at No. 187. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The cost of the West reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
