The rest of the league had time to spare on Peny Boone; the Saints did not wait, grabbing him 333 spots ahead at the Round 3 slot. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.

On value alone, Monheim makes the weekend a net positive. Spending an early pick on linebacker with cornerback, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Saints clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
