There is conviction, and then there is this. The Panthers took Sevion Morrison a full 387 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
