Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB+
The Eagles won the night they stopped Jeanty from sliding. Grade: B+. You build a draft on nights like this. Ashton Jeanty had no business being available in the 164th pick, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick54
Rnd2
Shemar Stewart
Shemar Stewart at the Round 2 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick64
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
A tight end of that caliber at pick 64 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick96
Rnd3
Armand Membou
Armand Membou at slot 96 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jahdae Barron
Taking Jahdae Barron in the 134th pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in Round 5, Pick 23 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick164
Rnd5
Ashton Jeanty
Somehow Ashton Jeanty was still sitting there in pick No. 164, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick165
Rnd5
Dylan Fairchild
You do not let an offensive lineman like Dylan Fairchild reach the 165th overall pick and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick168
Rnd5
Walter Nolen
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to No. 168, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
