The Vikings robbed the room for Mullings. Final grade: B-. Somebody in No. 139 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Kalel Mullings, the No. 113 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Gray left real value on the table behind him.
On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Shavon Revel Jr.
In slot 24 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick139
Rnd5
Kalel Mullings
The board fumbled Kalel Mullings all the way to the 139th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray in No. 187 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
