CP2026 DRAFTING FOR THEJets

Draft Grade — Jets

Allar should have been long gone. The Jets pounced, and earned a B. Somebody in the Round 5 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Jets sat still while Drew Allar, the No. 156 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for Key left real value on the table behind him. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In No. 5 they get a ballhawk on the back end. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick36
Rnd2
Christen Miller
A quiet steal in pick No. 36: Christen Miller for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick44
Rnd2
Kenyon Sadiq
The board fumbled Kenyon Sadiq all the way to the 44th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick105
Rnd4
Julian Neal
Julian Neal is a better player than the 105th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick178
Rnd5
Drew Allar
Somehow Drew Allar was still sitting there in pick 178, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick193
Rnd6
Dane Key
A reach for Dane Key in Round 6, Pick 15; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick205
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
Le'Veon Moss slipping to slot 205 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick210
Rnd6
Tree Babalade
A tidy little value on Tree Babalade in slot 210, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
