The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named interior defensive lineman, a need the Bears walked right past. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They banked enough surplus on Starks to cover a lot of smaller sins. The veteran additions, Andrus Peat chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
