Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
Larceny in the 84th pick lands the Cowboys a B-, Jackson and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. Donovan Jackson had no business being available in No. 84, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The TeSlaa reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Shemar Stewart
In the 12th pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. More want than need.
Pick53 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos in pick 53 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick76 Rnd3 Jaylin Noel
Value with a capital V on Jaylin Noel in the 76th overall pick, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick84 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in No. 84 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
A straight-up fair deal on Terrance Ferguson at pick No. 117, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick171 Rnd5 Kyle Williams
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kyle Williams. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick174 Rnd5 RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey in slot 174 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204 Rnd6 Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in pick 204 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
They paid up for Isaac TeSlaa at slot 218 when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick239 Rnd7 Phil Mafah
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Phil Mafah at Round 7, Pick 23 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick242 Rnd7 Dante Trader Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dante Trader Jr. in No. 242. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick247 Rnd7 Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers in the 247th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
