FutureA
Larceny in pick 149 lands the Cowboys a B, Williams and all. The Cowboys did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Savion Williams fell into Round 5, Pick 11. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Will Johnson
Will Johnson at the 33rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick44
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
The board had cheaper options than Alfred Collins at slot 44, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick76
Rnd3
Dylan Sampson
Nice patience on Dylan Sampson, who had no business lasting to No. 76. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
The board had Carson Schwesinger higher than pick 94, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick149
Rnd5
Savion Williams
Steal is underselling it; Savion Williams at the 149th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick171
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Tyler Shough in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick174
Rnd5
Logan Brown
They barely believed it either: Logan Brown still on the board at Round 5, Pick 36. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
