Singleton should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B-.

The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nicholas Singleton, the No. 106 name on the board, in Round 6, Pick 15.

Wease Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a load in the middle. A real need, handled.
Pick44 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
A clean, defensible pick in pick 44 with a little surplus value in Mykel Williams. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick78 Rnd3 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in the 78th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick150 Rnd5 Elic Ayomanor
The board fumbled Elic Ayomanor all the way to the 150th pick, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
You do not let a linebacker like Smael Mondon Jr. reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick170 Rnd5 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in slot 170 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick171 Rnd5 Dani Dennis-Sutton
Somehow Dani Dennis-Sutton was still sitting there in No. 171, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick190 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in pick No. 190 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Pick209 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
They read the board right and Xavier Nwankpa was the payoff at No. 209. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
