The phones sank the Cowboys this weekend: D-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 47 spots for Austin Siereveld, and value like that does not grow back. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. The Hughes pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.

They went early on Chase Roberts in slot 109, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
