Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Cowboys a B+.

The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Elijah Paige went at pick 118, a good 41 picks before the board was ready. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Green. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Nick Bolton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
In the 32nd overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Will Echoles in Round 2, Pick 11 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick47 Rnd2 Trey'Dez Green
Trey'Dez Green at slot 47 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick64 Rnd2 Vicari Swain
Vicari Swain at pick 64 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick74 Rnd3 Mario Craver
Mario Craver in the 74th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick77 Rnd3 Greg Johnson
Value with a capital V on Greg Johnson in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick96 Rnd3 Samson Okunlola
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Samson Okunlola at No. 96 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick111 Rnd4 LJ Martin
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on LJ Martin. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick118 Rnd4 Elijah Paige
Elijah Paige at the 118th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
