The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Rueben Owens II went at slot 225, a good 32 picks before the board was ready. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. That Wheatley pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The Tank Dell pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
