The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent pick No. 169 on Alfred Collins, a name most had 52 spots down the list. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Cowboys indulged a want in Stewart while a need in linebacker and tight end stayed open. Landing Dart that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
