If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Gino Garcia at the 205th overall pick is 76 spots clear of where he belonged. It lands right in the middle: a C, no more, no less.

Fortune at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Desmond King II deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Hit on Matthew Golden and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
