pkjay07 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B

Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Williams: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Steelers were there to profit. Nohl Williams, the No. 124 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 156. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In pick No. 21 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick83
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at No. 83 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick123
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick156
Rnd5
Nohl Williams
A cornerback of that caliber at slot 156 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick185
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at pick 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick229
Rnd7
Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson in Round 7, Pick 13 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
