Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent the 247th overall pick on J.J. Weaver, a name the board had a full 92 spots lower. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

That Paul Jr. pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
