Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC
The Packers won the night they stopped Burke from sliding. Grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Denzel Burke had no business being available in the 123rd overall pick, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Reaching for Kroeger left real value on the table behind him. The Trey Hendrickson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In slot 23 they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value.
Pick54 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick87 Rnd3 Savion Williams
A straight-up fair deal on Savion Williams at No. 87, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
Somehow Denzel Burke was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 22, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick160 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Taking Pat Bryant in the 160th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick200 Rnd6 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson in pick 200 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
Pick239 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
They took Ty Hamilton at par in the 239th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick251 Rnd7 Kai Kroeger
Kai Kroeger in pick No. 251 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
