Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB+ FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Chiefs.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chiefs shredded theirs for Isaac Brown. He came off 98 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Spears. The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Adding Joshua Palmer by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Zabien Brown
In pick No. 26 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick40 Rnd2 Sammy Brown
They jumped the gun on Sammy Brown, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick74 Rnd3 Dashawn Spears
You do not let a safety like Dashawn Spears reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick91 Rnd3 Nick Marsh
Nick Marsh at No. 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109 Rnd4 Luke Reynolds
Luke Reynolds at Round 4, Pick 9 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick146 Rnd5 Isaac Brown
Value said wait; Isaac Brown in the 146th pick says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick176 Rnd5 Amaris Williams
A reach on Amaris Williams in Round 5, Pick 38; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
