Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bills spent the Round 7 slot on Carson Steele, a name the board had a full 78 spots lower. A F, plain and simple.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. With linebacker, offensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on S-EDGE is the choice that costs them. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake. Getting Mustapha where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
