You can hear the double-takes from here. The Lions took Eric Gentry at the 212th pick, roughly 66 spots before his name belonged. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
