Draft Grade — Jets
Overall D+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Jets lost the trade table, and the D+ tells the story.

The Jets did not so much draft Trevor Keegan as overpay for him, 53 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. That Hardy pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick47 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at No. 47 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick93 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland at slot 93 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick112 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
A big swing on Ben Sinnott at Round 4, Pick 12, well ahead of any board in the building. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick131 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
They took Cole Bishop at par in pick 131, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick144 Rnd5 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at the 144th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick187 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
They reached a country mile for Trevor Keegan at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick248 Rnd7 Daequan Hardy
Daequan Hardy at slot 248 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick254 Rnd7 Anthony Gould
They paid sticker price for Anthony Gould in pick No. 254, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick257 Rnd7 Aaron Frost
A straight-up fair deal on Aaron Frost at No. 257, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
