Stan DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Eagles. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Eagles started one anyway for Joe Milton III, 48 picks ahead of schedule. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing Vaki that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In pick No. 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick 50 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremiah Trotter Jr.. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick100
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
A tidy little value on Brenden Rice in Round 3, Pick 37, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick120
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo at the 120th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick139
Rnd5
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in the 139th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick152
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Joe Milton III in Round 5, Pick 16, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jared Wiley
No drama and no debate, Jared Wiley went about where he belonged in pick 161. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick171
Rnd5
Tahj Washington
The board had cheaper options than Tahj Washington at slot 171, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick172
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
A slide stopped in No. 172, with Sione Vaki worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Good price on Jaylan Ford in pick No. 210, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
