Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
Larceny in the 137th pick lands the Eagles a B, Goncalves and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. Matt Goncalves had no business being available in slot 137, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Melton pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback and interior defensive lineman.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In pick 32 they get a premier pass rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in pick No. 58 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick64 Rnd2 Blake Corum
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Corum. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick89 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at No. 89 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick97 Rnd3 Max Melton
A want over a need in the 97th pick: Max Melton adds a defensive back while cornerback and interior defensive lineman keeps waiting.
Pick137 Rnd5 Matt Goncalves
They will replay Matt Goncalves at the 137th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick147 Rnd5 Cameron Ward
Cameron Ward at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick172 Rnd5 Gabriel Murphy
Gabriel Murphy at slot 172 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick178 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
A reach on Oronde Gadsden II in slot 178; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Pick253 Rnd7 Zion Nelson
Zion Nelson in the 253rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
