The Bears looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Kavosiey Smoke at slot 249 regardless, 136 picks early.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Bears indulged a want in Sinnott while a need in interior defensive lineman stayed open.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. Landing Taylor that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with interior defensive lineman still staring back at them.
