Grand theft in pick 250: the Commanders steal Williams and grade out a B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Nohl Williams got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at slot 250. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

Reaching for Hayes left real value on the table behind him. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Trey Hendrickson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Josh Simmons
In slot 29 they get a blindside protector, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick79 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
Value with a capital V on Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 3, Pick 15, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
Taking Antwane Wells Jr. in the 207th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick238 Rnd7 Dayon Hayes
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dayon Hayes in the Round 7 slot, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick250 Rnd7 Nohl Williams
They robbed the room for Nohl Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
