Draft Grade — Commanders

Good, not great, for the Commanders: B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Commanders walked out of the weekend still thin at tight end, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Morris pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Coleman pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Anthony Hill Jr.
In the 24th pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, and a steal at that.
Pick163
Rnd5
Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman at the 163rd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick174
Rnd5
Jordan Castell
A tidy little value on Jordan Castell in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick202
Rnd6
J.Michael Sturdivant
A quiet steal in No. 202: J.Michael Sturdivant for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick237
Rnd7
Micah Morris
Value said wait; Micah Morris in pick 237 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
