A masterclass at the trade table lands the Commanders a A-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Commanders spent No. 174 on Jarquez Hunter, a name most had 32 spots down the list.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Getting Johnson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Adding David Njoku by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

In the end it comes back to Abdul Carter, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
