Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Commanders. The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 55 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 3 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.
The cost of the Crenshaw-Dickson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick79
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 79 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick194
Rnd6
Cobee Bryant
The board had Cobee Bryant higher than the Round 6 slot, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick238
Rnd7
Cam Horsley
Circle this one: Cam Horsley at No. 238 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick250
Rnd7
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson at slot 250 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
