FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Commanders, and a B to prove it. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Commanders did exactly that with Quinn Carroll in No. 248. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They banked enough surplus on Horton to cover a lot of smaller sins. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams in slot 29 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick61
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Alfred Collins in pick No. 61. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick128
Rnd4
Tory Horton
They will replay Tory Horton at Round 4, Pick 26 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick205
Rnd6
Karene Reid
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Karene Reid graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick248
Rnd7
Quinn Carroll
This one needs a full-page explanation: Quinn Carroll in the 248th overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
